Gamefreak favourites: Final fight (XBLA) Stage 2: The subway.
Hey guys, it's time for another in the Gamefreak favourites series. It's another retro one, and probably my last retro favourite for ewww.....at least a week or two. This time, i'm looking at the classic side scrolling basher "Final Fight", chewing my way through the second stage of the game, the subway. I bloody love this level, and if you don't i'll kick your head off!
Cause that's how I roll innit!!
Enjoy my friends.

DmC Devil May Cry PS3, Xbox 360 E3 2011 trailer
Mmm....i'm not sure about this. Ok, we get a flash of Dante's white hair...great....brilliant.....fantastic. Let's be honest here, the DMC series has been hit and miss....1st game good, second bad, third good but unforgivable hard and forth was a return to form but with some arse cock stupid puzzle bits. This looks and sounds like DMC...but it doesn't feel like DMC. Where the cocky, over the top moves?? Well, I mean they are a bit over the top....but you know what I mean.....Where Dante?? Where's the wit and style?
Ah well...early days and all that.

Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City: E3 Trailer(Exclusive)
I'm still not sure about this game, but the latest trailer looks great. More details to follow in the coming week.
I'm still not sure about the whole "able to kill Leon Kennedy" thing.....but hey, it could be a laugh.

CAPCOM Lineup 2011/2012
Here are a few snippets of what Capcom will be dishing out in 2011/2012. Noticeable vids are Some more of the new Devil May Cry game, a peek at Steel Battalion and the awesome looking, bat-shit insane Asura's Wrath......that game in particular looks so crazy it could be the game of the year already!
What do you think? Excited about any of them? They all look pretty darn cool at the moment!
Your thoughts, as always, are appreciated.

A brief look at an old classic, Steel Battalion.
With the news that Capcom are releasing a new, updated version of Steel Battalion for Kinect, I thought it would be good to have a quick look at the original game on the Xbox.Steel Battalion was released on the Xbox here in blighty in 2004, slightly later than the U.S and Japanese launches. Numbers were limited, literally down to a few thousand units, if that. The reason for the limited nature of the game was the controller.....it was a behemoth! A monster of a controller, around 2 ft wise, 40 buttons, foot pedals.....it would put most light aircraft to shame.
The game itself was played from the cockpit of a huge walking tank, and as the pilot you fought in virtual battlefields, commanding other units, and taking down enemy walking machines, tanks and anything else stupid enough to get in your sights. The way that the game interacted with the controller, such as when the screen got dirty you could wipe the windows, and the way lights would flash informing you of a shortage of ammo really sucked you into the game world. It was big, brash, explosive and most importantly, unique.
If you never got the chance to see the game or the controller in action, i've shot a small video for you all, so you can revel in it's brilliance. Please excuse my croaky voice, I think I have some sort of man-flu-cat-aids that makes me sound like i'm on 20 Park Drive a day.
Awesome, isn't it. And as I say at the end, it's something that could only really be done in the video game world. Yeah, ok, you could argue that Rock Band/Guitar Hero also immerse you in the game with the controller, but in my humble opinion no other game managed to fuse together the two in such a unique way.
It was, and still is, the video game equivalent of Concorde. Expensive, prohibitive, but a class above the rest.
So lets here it for Steel Battalion. It's one of a kind.
