Which is conveniently on the back of a giant Eagle.

Which has an infestation of skeletons. Well...better than mites I guess...

Gamefreakblog takes a weekend break.

Hey guys, Just a quick notice.

I'll be away having a short break for the weekend, back to fully operational status on Monday. It's time to recharge those batteries, drink some cocktails and fire up that hot tub.

Well, it would be if I were an international playboy. It's actually down to a cylinder cracking in my boiler, giving me the beautiful sensation of experiencing hot running water coming through my roof, soaking the living shit out of everything underneath it. The plumbers have been, and also found out that my water supply is still coming to my taps via the ancient Roman method of using lead piping. So, apart from probably turning me ever so slightly mad, it also means that my bathroom and kitchen needs to be ripped out and replaced. Bummer.

So instead of trying to write, and indeed do video commentaries with what sounds like an extremely busy construction site in the background, i'm just going to do sod all for the next two days. But rest assured, i'll be back next week with a vengeance.

This also means that this weeks Thumb Culture TV episode is unfortunately not going to happen, but we'll be back next week with another oh so great episode. And if you missed the first three, just look down below and play catch up.

I'll leave it at that guys, so see you in a couple of days.

Peace.

Battlefield 3 - Official Multiplayer Gameplay Trailer

No words needed. Bring it.....

Gamefreakblog presents the complete playthrough of the Resistance 3 demo...

Hey guys, Tony here, bringing you (as you can probably tell from the title) the playthrough of the recently released Resistance 3 demo that was bundled with the Blu-Ray "Battle for Los Angeles". The film itself, apart from a few parts, is essentially bollocks, so you have to ask yourself is it worth me shelling out £15-20 for the film Just to play through the demo. I've done it for you (I know...i'm too kind) so have a watch and see what you think. It's Resistance through and through, but I have to admit I did enjoy it. It does absolutely nothing new, but what it does it does well.

Resistance 3 is scheduled for release on September 9th, 2011.

Gamefreakblog video review: 007 Blood Stone Xbox 360

Hey guys, Tony here. This is the first video review for my wee blog, where I look at 007 Blood Stone, the 3rd person cover based shooter that some of you may have missed. Release in November of last year, it's a fun, exciting, if generic shooter, so watch the vid for my thoughts.

And of course, your feedback is appreciated.

Gamefreakblog/Thumb Culture TV: GTA 5, and why GTA 4 wasn't really that ...

Hey guys, it's Friday.....all day long! And what does that mean, of course.....it's episode 2 of Thumb culture TV.

What i'm looking at in this episode is the recent announcement on Grand Theft Auto 5. Apparently it's coming, and it'll be officially announced this summer. That's the news. You don't need a crystal ball to know that ANOTHER game in one of the greatest selling game series of all time will be released, but anyway....that's what's been said.

So what I do is look at GTA 4, and some of the reasons why I personally think it's the best in the series so far. Please feel free to disagree, and make some of your own points. More specifically, as I may very well do a follow up video including some of your ideas, I want to hear what YOU want to see from GTA 5. Do you want the freedom, customisation and RPG-style elements from GTA: San Andreas or indeed the Saints Row games, or would you, like me, rather have well rounded, believable characters that you can really connect to?

By all means leave me a comment here, or on my Youtube channel should you watch the video over there. Even better, follow this link and join in the discussion on the Thumb Culture website.

And while you're at it, when you visit Thumb culture, go and give us all a vote in the Games Media awards. Votes are open until the 25th July, and we'll collectively give you all a virtual reach-around if you do.

Follow this link to find out some more details.

Stay tuned to The blog. More great videos/reviews coming up this weekend.

Gamefreak VS Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam. Do you get gamer's block?

Do you suffer with getting back into games? After not indulging in Call of Duty for a week do you find it hard getting back into the swing of things? Well you're not alone, you're just one of millions of sufferers of "Gamers block", the phenomenon of getting your ass handed to you for several games in a row after taking a break from certain genres of games. It's completely real, even though I've just made it up, and this video is a demonstration of the illness.

I haven't played Battlefield Vietnam in an age, and this, the first game I've had in months is a text-book example of the phenomenon. Aside from a few great kills, the round was pretty much a non event from the start.

If you have also suffered from gamers block, you're not alone. Call the following free phone number for more advice on how to deal with being completely shit at games for the first hour in coming back to them.

Gamefreak Favourites: Double Dragon mission 2. (XBLA version)

Hey guys, it's Monday, it's sunny, and here's the first of this weeks videos. This time we're going retro, stepping back to the eighties and the beat-em-up that started off a trend, Double Dragon. Many a day I shoveled 10p pieces into this game, and it probably took more money off me during my youth than any other game. Actually that's probably false, but you get what I mean.

The next few gamefreak favourites i'll be doing will all be retro titles, as I realise I need to mix things up a bit....partly for you, but mostly for my own entertainment.

Of course it's MY favourites, but if you think there is a game, retro or not, that I should have a look at doing in my favourites section then just drop me a message on Twitter, Facebook, on the comments section here or Youtube.....or indeed if you're in Google+ join me on there, there is a growing community of geeks on that thing, so you won't be alone!

Enjoy!

Gamefreak favourites: Killzone 3 Icy incursion "Frozen shores" level

Here's ANOTHER Gamefreak favourites for you lovely people. This time it's Killzone 3, and the cold, icy chapter "Frozen shores", which sees our hero rescued by his team mates who then take him on a rescue mission.....via the medium of blowing the living fuck out of a couple of oil rigs along the way.

I didn't mind Killzone 3. It was short, the story was a mess and it was a bit generic, as I covered in my original review. But it's still worth playing through at least once.

I have a couple more levels from the game that I really liked, so if you liked watching this, stay tuned.

Gamefreakblog attacks the Uncharted 3 beta: Airstrip multiplayer, with a...

Here's the promised look at the Airstrip multiplayer level from the Uncharted 3 beta. It's a pretty cool level, I just LOVE the opening. I wish that were the whole level if i'm really honest.

If you fancy joining me for a few games, leave your PSN ID on here, message it to me via Twitter or drop it on the comments section of my Youtube page. I'm looking for someone to join me on the co-op section of the beta, so if you're interested give me a shout!

Peace.

p.s. sorry about the slight political rant, the news just broke that the NOTW had just closed its doors, so my brain just took it for a walk!

Gamefreak favourites: Heavy Rain chapter 39 "Sexy girl"

Hey guys, another day, another gamefreak favourites and another from Heavy Rain, this time it's "sexy girl", in which our heroine, Madison, has to pop along to a club to attempt to glean some crucial information from the owner, using her womanly charms to hopefully accomplish the task.

I really like this chapter from the game. It shows Madison in quite an empowering role, although i'm sure the feminists out there will completely hate me for that suggestion. "Getting her kit off isn't empowering" they will shriek.....but wrapping a table lamp around the guys head is, so there....ner ner.

Enjoy my friends.

Gamefreak favourites: Heavy Rain chapter 17: The Bear

A very good Monday to you all folks, I hope you have all had a spankingly good weekend. To get us started this week is another Gamefreak favourites video, this time it's the PS3 exclusive adventure-come-point-and-click-come-QTE fest that is Heavy Rain, the David Cage sometimes flawed masterpiece. I'm looking at chapter 17, called "The Bear", which sees our hero having to take on a suicidal task where he has five minutes to drive five miles down the wrong way of a motorway.

See as our hero Ethan travels at death defying speeds, watch in horror as cars dodge out of his way, recoil in fear as even the Police get smashed up, and stare in amazement as we see motorway workers actually doing some work!

I liked Heavy Rain. I was enthralled all the way through, and it was only afterwards that I realised that some of the parts were actually slightly flawed, but hey, that's another post entirely. I'll be putting up another chapter or two, so if you enjoyed this one tune in again this week, or indeed just pop to Youtube and subscribe to get notified straight away!

Here's looking to another great gaming week on thoughts of a gaming freak!

Gamefreakblog checks out the Uncharted 3 beta....and gets battered!

Hey guys, thanks for tuning in again. I can't believe it's been a week since I updated my blog....i'm a lazy bastard at times.

Here's a video of my first look at the recently released beta for Uncharted 3. 4 kills, 7 deaths, so not all that great. Mind you, not too bad considering i've never played it before. Quite a good level to play on as well, very open, with high/low sections with lots of run throughs. It's also as vertical as it is wide, so it's fun.

I'll record some more of the beta over the weekend. And by all means if you want to have a go on co-op, as i'd like to get some footage of that, drop me a message via Youtube/Twitter, or just drop me a comment here with your username and we'll get something sorted.

And once more, please just pop over to the vid on Youtube and leave me a rating, it'll take you ten seconds and i'd really appreciate it!

Anyway guys, i'll have another vid or two up later today/tomorrow, so keep tuning in.

Peace.
